My Weight Loss Journey with Start Fresh: Week 5

So I finished my first month of my Weight Loss Journey with Start Fresh!

So my total weight loss for the month…

-love all,trust a few,do wrong to none.- (4)

Did you enter my giveaway for a free month on Start Fresh? It ends tonight at midnight – don’t miss it!

I’ll admit, it wasn’t the easiest week for me. I had a day off for New Year’s, I was out sick one day, and I was snowed in another. Being home and bored doesn’t make for easy dieting. I was tempted to cheat a few times, but I had my plan and stuck with it! I started asking myself… “Am I hungry, or am I bored?” As you can imagine, I was bored most of the time.

One of my delicious food discoveries of the week was my Skinny Mocha Frappes. I also made a version with just coffee (no cocoa) and it was amazing – like those ice coffees I pay way-too-much for. It’s awesome to be able to treat yourself without a ton of calories.

I’ve also been super into soup lately. (Hehe. Excuse the sorta pun.) Broccoli soup is filling and tasty (skip the beans if you want), so is carrot ginger soup. This week I plan to make a batch of Chunky Vegetable soup, which is my all time favorite. Admittedly, I didn’t cook that much this week (recipe testing for my magazine column – and nothing healthy!), but I hope to get more cooking in this week!

I wanted to tell you about my current favorite salad addition: roasted mushrooms! Slice them thin, toss with a bit of olive oil and kosher salt, plus a bit of black pepper. Roast at 450 for about 20-30 minutes, until slightly brown. Cool completely, then add to your salad. It’s so filling and tastes amazing!

The cool thing is that after the first month of “Speed Start” dieting on Start Fresh, you start the diet for life plan, which allows a wider range of foods and some “cheats” for special occasions! I am excited to stick to the plan and continue to lose weight. And as usual, I am thrilled to have the structure of Start Fresh to help me stick to my diet. My big goal for this week is to exercise more….that’s the area of weight loss I have been worst at the past month! If you’ve got any tips for exercising when you’re schedule is totally insane, I would love to hear from you! (Comment below.)

I’ve lost 11 pounds in my first month in Start Fresh. Start your Weight Loss Journey with them today and come back here to share your success!

Anyway, thanks as always for reading and supporting my journey! Can’t wait to come back next week with weight loss to report! And come back soon for more yummy recipes! -Miriam

Congrats on navigating your way through the holidays and losing weight- major accomplishment right there! As for exercise, I hit at least five days a week. I look at it as an appointment and not something I do if I have extra time. I try to never miss….I am training for a half marathon and run with another friend. Having a workout partner definitely helps because if you flake you are letting someone else down and not just yourself. I also go to a class three times a week where I have developed a good rhythm and comraderie with the other women. These relationships and tips really do work. Good luck. I’ll look forward to your journey and continued milestones. Stick with it!! You can do it!!

I think the hardest part of dieting is persevering until the end. I was also struggling for the first month but after that it became part of my system which eventually became a routine for me. Good luck on your weight loss journey! I hope you don’t only lose weight but also be healthy. Cheers!
