My Weight Loss Journey with Start Fresh: Week 8

As I get ready to start the final week of my second month of my Weight Loss Journey with Start Fresh, I’m excited that I lost weight again!

Yep, I lost another pound, for a total weight loss of sixteen pounds! While one pound isn’t tons (and I will definitely have to step up my exercise game this coming week…) I’m stoked about losing 16 pounds. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

16 pounds is amazing. It’s smaller clothes. It’s people telling you that you look great and lost so much weight. It’s self confidence and improved health. 16 pounds is an accomplishment, and I am so happy that Start Fresh has helped me get there. 16 pounds of weight loss is an accomplishment, and I want to share it with you!

Now let’s talk about my week. I’ve mentioned it before, but the thing I love about Start Fresh is that it’s livable. I got stuck (thanks a lot, snow) at a friend’s house one night, and it was nice knowing I can eat the food, find something that works for me… It’s a diet that you’re meant to live on. And I sure do!

I know one pound might not sound like a ton, but it was a hectic week, full of moments where I wanted to toss in the towel and give it all up. And in my previous diet attempts, I really would have. But here, I didn’t have to give up. I can enjoy myself (within limits) and stay within the framework of the diet plan.

Some of the foods I enjoyed this week were soups (blame the cold! – good news is I have the most amazing new soup recipe headed your way!), roasted vegetable and chickpea salad (current favorite lunch), roasted red pepper dip, and roasted cauliflower.

My big goals for this week are to be more careful in drinking lots of water, increase my exercise, and come up with a new way to eat my veggies!

    Wow Miriam that’s amazing! In trying to lose my baby weight drinking green smoothies in the morning helped me shed a few pounds not to mention getting in all my fruits and veggies !

    Congratulations on losing again this week and on having lost 16 pounds so far! Even if you have a week or a few weeks where you don’t lose any weight, don’t get discouraged and toss in the towel. As you said, this is a journey and there will be bumps, roadblocks and delays along the way. The main thing is to focus on your destination and work each day as best you can to get yourself there. You are making a lifestyle change. Change is difficult, challenging and something we tend to want to resist. You should be so very proud of your journey to date and you should know that you will see it to the end, with perseverance and patience. Don’t come down hard on yourself when you have setbacks, they are to be expected but be sure to praise yourself when you overcome them.
