August 7, 2015 by overtimecook 709 Comments

It all started four years ago today. August 7th, 2011 was the day I published my first post here on Overtime Cook.I've written previously about how my blog got started. In short, I was bored (at least creatively) and needed a hobby. So I purchased the domain name overtimecook.com and posted my first recipe. Behold: Peanut Butter Truffle Stuffed Oreos. Not too bad for an iphone photo and a gal with zero experience! What started that day has become so much more than a hobby. It's become a life-changing passion. So much has happened in the last four years. Millions (literally!) of readers, a magazine column, a thriving food photography business, and lots of new friends. And now, of … [Read more...]

Wow. Seriously, just...wow. How else can I describe the last year?   I've said it before, but I'll say it again. I never imagined I would stick to the whole blogging thing. I thought it would be another one of my two-week hobbies, destined to go the way of all the fads before it. But you guys showed up, so I stuck around, and I'm so grateful for that. I see the numbers...well over 100,000 different people are visiting this blog every month. I can see on my stat tracker how page views in 2014 were more than double those in 2013. Coffee Cake Cream Cheese Cookies

October 29, 2013 by overtimecook 18 Comments

You might have noticed, if you're a steady reader, that I kinda like to use cream cheese in my recipes. Whether it's a great new cheesecake recipe, this delicious bundt cake,  these brown butter cookies, or perhaps my ever popular Cappuccino cookies, or even one of these delicious frostings, cream cheese just makes yummy things even yummier. Oh, wait. I almost forgot that one of my most popular recipes ever has cream cheese in it! Well. I guess I kind of can't help myself. I just keep putting cream cheese into more of my baked goods. In my defense, they keep coming out so freaking delicious. Can you really blame me? Take these cookies for example. They have the flavor and crumbs of a … [Read more...]
