Cookies and Cream Muddy Buddies

A classic cereal treat gets a favorite flavor makeover in these Cookies and Cream Muddy Buddies!
Ingredients
  • 25 oreo cookies (2/3 of a package), crushed into fine crumbs (divided)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 6 cups Chex cereal
  • 12 oreos (1/3 package) crushed into small pieces - NOT crumbs
Instructions
  1. Measure half a cup of the oreo crumbs and mix with the powdered sugar. Set the mixture aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate and oil together, either in the microwave or using a double boiler.
  3. When melted and smooth, add the remaining oreo crumbs and vanilla pudding mix and until evenly distributed. The mixture will be quite thick at this point.
  4. Place the chex in a large bowl, and pour the chocolate mixture over it. Toss to combine. Be as gently as possible so you don't crush the cereal too much.
  5. Wait a couple of minutes for the chocolate to cool slightly, then pour the powdered sugar mixture over the cereal. Toss to coat.*
  6. Add the small pieces of oreo cookies and stir gently to distribute them.
  7. Serve immediately, or store in the freezer for a fun frozen treat!
*Note: because of the oreo crumbs in the sugar, these won't be as white as traditional muddy buddies - that's okay though!
