Recipe type: Main
Cuisine: American
Serves: 8
  • 1 bag (24 ounces) Gefen Quick Mash
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup cornstarch, potato starch or flour
  • 8 hot dogs
  • For coating:
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • ¾ cup corn flake crumbs or pesach crumbs
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, grease it with nonstick spray, set aside.
  2. Cook Quick Mash according to package directions. Place potatoes in a large bowl, add spices, and mash.
  3. Add egg and cornstarch and stir until combined and the mixture becomes a dough-like consistency.
  4. Wrap an eighth of the potato mixture around a hot dog and place it on prepared tray. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and potato mixture.
  5. Dip a potato-wrapped hot dog in egg, turning to coat, then into the crumbs, making sure they fully coat all sides. Return to tray and repeat with remaining hot dogs.
  6. Spray the top of each hot dog well with nonstick cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip each hot dog and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
Plan Ahead:
  1. Store these for a few days in the refrigerator. Reheat uncovered on a baking sheet in a single layer.
