Like on the side: some links I love, some kitchen deals, and a review of the new cookbook The Big Flavor Grill!
Hey friends. I’m trying something a little different here today. I’d love to say it’s going to be a weekly series, but knowing me and how busy I get sometimes, I am not going to make any commitments. However, now that I’ve got a super talented assistant (I’m going to introduce her next week!), I am going to try to share more than just recipes. We’ll aim for most fridays…let’s see how that works out! Some weeks I’ll share great kitchen deals, sometimes it’s going to be cookbook reviews (maybe a few giveaways?), sometimes I will share roundups of great recipes and sometimes you might find some menu planning tips!
This week I’m sharing a hodgepodge of stuff. I hope you enjoy – please comment and let me know what you think of this, what you’d like to see, etc. You know how much I love to hear from you!
These sandwich bags made me laugh (and I feel like they are a good way to protect your food!)

This has me wondering…why have I never made Italian Ices before?

Some great deals I found this week:
55% off a pasta machine (so excited for mine to come!)

This cake basically combines everything I love about summer.
I just bought this book from one of my favorite authors. Totally excited to read it. What are you reading lately?
So much awesomeness combined in this recipe. Hello delicious!

I want to tell you about a really cool cookbook I got recently: The Big-Flavor Grill: No-Marinade, No-Hassle Recipes. It’s got all kinds of amazing grilling recipes, from Meat and chicken to fruits and veggies. The flavors are exciting and different, the photos are mouthwatering, and it’s chock full of ideas for people who enjoy great flavor and grills. (A note to my kosher readers – there’s an entire chapter on pork, and another on shrimp, so you’d have to skip those recipes or substitute. But I still enjoyed looking at them to get ideas of flavor combinations and things. Even though the summer is almost over, I’m going to keep this book handy. Hello grill pan!

I made this salad again this week. Every time I do, I wonder why I don’t make it like, every day. This time I added extra veggies, including zucchini and grilled corn.

This is one of the cutest and funniest things I ever read.
Speaking of funny, I think this basically sums me up:
That’s all folks! Come back soon for more delicious recipes. And if there’s anything you’d like to see on this space, please comment below and let me know!
