Homemade Mango Lemonade is simple to make and is bursting with seasonal flavors.
I’m sorry folks, but I’m just not ready to accept that summer is nearing an end. It’s hard to ignore the signs, but I’m trying my best. Pinterest is no longer filled with juicy berries and heirloom tomatoes. Family barbecues are getting less frequent, and the weather is getting cooler. But it’s still august, and I’ll post a summer recipe if I want to. The pumpkins can wait. So can the apples, the fall spices, the warm fall flavors. Today we can have a tall glass of homemade lemonade, served over ice. Hold on to summer, it’s fleeting, but it’s still here.
This Homemade Mango Lemonade couldn’t be simpler. Lemonade is a familiar and popular flavor, and the mango flavor elevates it to a whole new level. There are all kinds of artificially flavored lemonades out there (and don’t get me wrong, I totally enjoy them all!) but there’s nothing like the good simple flavors of fresh fruit…try this one – it will become a family favorite.
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and pit removed
- ⅓ cup water
- ⅓ cup lemon juice
- ½ cup sugar or sweetener
- 5 cups water
- ice, for serving
- In the bowl of a blender, combine the mango pieces with ⅓ cup water. Puree until smooth.
- Pour the puree into a large pitcher and combine with the lemon juice and sugar and stir until combined.
- Add the 5 cups of water and stir to combine. If you don't serve this immediately, stir again just before serving.
- Serve over ice.

With a storm suddenly approaching this afternoon just as we were about to start our barbeque, I needed to come up with something quick and exciting really quickly as we transferred dinner indoors. I didn’t have a mango, but used some extra peaches to quickly whip up a pitcher of Peach Lemonade. It was delicious, and sure kept the storm from dampening my kids’ spirits. I already have requests for more Peach Lemonade, and my kids put mangoes on the top of my shopping list so we can try “real” Mango Lemonade really soon. Thanks for the wonderful, refreshing, and quick recipe! It saved the day!

Finally got some really good mango. This mango lemonade was a huge hit! I prepared the mango puree, and put away some of the concentrate to be mixed before the Shabbos meals. This was great. Everyone loved it! (And it doesn’t hurt that we know exactly what all the ingredients are!) Thanks again for another simple, yet wonderful recipe!
