A Big Announcement!

February 17, 2015 by overtimecook 105 Comments

Guys, I have a confession. I’ve got a big secret that I’ve been keeping from you all. I can’t keep it to myself anymore, so I’m finally going to spill the beans!

announcing

…a cookbook!!

Yes!! You read that correctly – I’m writing a cookbook.

Finally, right? I’ve been getting requests for a cookbook for years (literally) and I’m so excited to finally be doing this!

Want some details?

Ok, here goes.

When: My cookbook is going to be published by ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications and it’s scheduled for release at the end of this summer – just in time for your cooking marathon before the Jewish holidays in September.

What: A book of treats! Baked goods, desserts and treats for every occasion. And I mean EVERY occasion. I’m working super hard to think of every possible occasion that you’ll be baking for…so this book will become your absolute go-to for all things sweet!

I’m so excited to be doing this, and I’m beyond excited for you all to be holding an actual copy of my cookbook in your hands! To be honest, I’m also terrified. This is the biggest, scariest, most intense thing I’ve ever done in my life. There’s so much work to be done between now and then, and I still haven’t found an extra dozen hours in my day.

But here’s one thing I can tell you: when you pick up a copy of my book, I can guarantee you that it will contain my heart and soul within its pages. I’ve been working on some amazing new recipes for ages now, and I am DYING to share them with you already! But we’ll all have to wait…and it will definitely be worth it!

My cookbook will contain a few reader favorite recipes (any that you MUST see in the book? Let me know in the comments!) but it will mostly contain all-new recipes. And let me tell you…they.are.amazing!

Oh, and there’s one more thing! I will be asking for readers to sign up as testers for some of the recipes – so if you want to get involved (and try out some really delicious treats!) stay tuned for details on that.

And lastly – I’m sure you’re all wondering if and how this big announcement will affect the blog. But don’t worry! I most definitely do NOT plan to abandon my blog. There may be a higher concentration of real food here as I work to create recipes for my blog, but I’ll definitely keep posting new recipes for all of my amazing readers.

Thanks to each and every one of you for reading this blog, for believing in me, for supporting me, and for following. I’m so excited to have you along for this insane and exciting ride!

Edit: apply here to be a recipe tester!

So excited for this…I’d love to have a lot of your previous recipes included because I find it frustrating to have to shuffle through dozens/hundreds of torn out magazine pages or search through your blog to find my favorites. Some of those….caramel pie, lemon glazed honey cookies, smores cookies, mocha cream cheese trifles and on and on and on…. can’t wait for the book and would love to help taste test 😉

    Sounds great
Please include recipes that are on your blog as its easier to cook from looking at a book then a computer. I also don’t have the ami magazine anymore and want to try out those recipe’s so badly. Especially the ones everyone posts on Facebook from your over time cook. PLEASE PLEASE don’t make new recipe’s. Its time to have those in a cookbook.
    Thanks

Yours are amazing but we don’t have enough healthy, easy, tasty cookbooks and those are the recipes that I keep looking up on your blog ALL. THE. TIME. I want them in a cookbook, and I want MORE! Actually glad that you’re keeping it separate, that way you can come out with Volume II and I can get a cookbook that is entirely what I want instead of half desserts with a little food sprinkled in.

Can’t wait till the cookbook comes out. Tried so many of your recipes and I love them. Any chance we can pre-order them?

Hey! I noticed many recipies dont have a ‘print’ button so I can print out the Recipes, vs copying a and pasting etc.

    1. I love your blog and now have quite a few “go to” recipes from here.

    2. You’ve got to include your margerineless choc chip cookies – I just made a batch for a bar mitzvah and people raved about them – the link from your blog has been forwarded to many.

    3. I would totally test recipes for you
