If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you probably already know that I am a HUGE fan of maple syrup. Starting with one of my most popular recipes ever, my Maple Mustard Chicken, and including my Maple Roasted Pecans, Maple Roasted Pecans, Maple Sandwich Cookies, and even Maple Cabbage Salad. And so much more.

But here’s the thing about Maple Syrup. People often substitute pancake syrup instead, and that always makes me really sad. I get the temptation – maple syrup can be pricey, and pancake syrup is cheap. You know why? Because pancake syrup is just artificially flavored corn syrup. Believe me – using the good stuff is worth the price! Speaking of the good stuff, let me introduce you to my favorite maple syrup from Best Select. Not only does this stuff has a dark, rich color and taste, but take a look at this innovative no-mess squeeze bottle!  Look for it in your local Kosher grocery store, or ask for it by name.

Now let’s discuss this sangria recipe. It’s filled with delicate maple flavor, plus it’s packed with summer fruit. For kick, I added some rum, and Best Select not-from-concentrate lemon juice (it tastes as close to fresh squeezed as you’ll ever get from a bottle!). And of course, wine. Because wine is an important food group. 😀

This Maple and Summer Fruit Sangria really just screams summer, so grab a glass, sit outside and forget your stresses, even for just a few minutes.
