This beautiful cheese tart is easy to make and packed with flavor – and best of all – you can make it now and stick it in the freezer until ready to serve! I love using cottage cheese for a creamy filling that’s got enough protein to keep everyone satisfied.

Savory Sheet Pan Cheese Tart
Ingredients
Filling:
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 (8 oz) container cottage cheese (I use low fat)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
Assembly:
- 1 large sheet puff pastry
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- Shredded mozzarella cheese, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
- Prepare filling: Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl. Stir to combine; set aside.
- Assemble tart: Place puff pastry sheet on prepared baking sheet. Spread filling over the surface, leaving about an inch on each side empty.
- Fold the unfilled puff pastry over the filling to encase it and form a crust. Squeeze the edges to ensure it stays closed.
- Brush beaten egg over the crust. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the exposed cheese filling.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Increase oven temperature to 425 and bake for another ten minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is starting to brown.
Notes
Plan ahead:
Tart can be frozen. Reheat, uncovered, until warmed through.
