If you’re familiar with Jewish customs, you’re likely already aware of why I’m posting this list now. For those who aren’t, we are about to enter the saddest time of the Jewish year, the nine days of mourning [over the destruction of the temple]. During those days, we follow certain mourning customs, including refraining from eating any meat or chicken during this time. For some people, that’s no big deal. But for lots of folks, myself included, who eat chicken or meat basically every night of the year, this becomes a huge challenge. Add in my lifelong hatred of any fish, a minor lactose intolerance, and I totally feel for you guys if you’re struggling.
And that’s why I put this list together. Refer to it this week, but come back and refer to it all year. Whether you’re looking for meatless monday recipes, or you simply want to eat healthier by reducing the amount of chicken and meat in your diet, the following fifty+ recipes are going to make things so much easier for you!
Note that recipes on this blog are by me, those with a link to an outside blog or site, as noted next to the link, are not my recipes and haven’t been tested by me. They look great though, based on my knowledge of food and recipes.
