Honestly, I’m hesitant to share this recipe now, as a Rosh Hashanah dish, because this absolutely perfect honey vinaigrette is so versatile,. so delicious, you definitely need to keep making it for all of your salads, all year long. For Rosh Hashanah, I’m pairing this dressing with a cabbage salad with apples and some other goodies, but feel free to play around and come up with your favorite combination!
**Note: if you don’t use vinegar on Rosh Hashanah, replace it with lemon juice instead.

Apple and Honey Cabbage Salad
Ingredients
Perfect Honey Dressing
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
- Pinch ground ginger
Salad:
- 14 oz shredded green cabbage
- 1 apple, cut in matchsticks
- 4 stalks celery, thinly sliced
- 4 scallions, thinly sliced
Optional add-ins:
- Pecans
- Sunflower seeds
- Pomegranate seeds
- Chopped dates
- Fennel
Instructions
- Prepare dressing: Add all ingredients to a jar or container. Whisk or shake well to combine. For a perfectly emulsified dressing, I like to use an immersion blender to blend the dressing. Store in fridge for up to two weeks.
- Prepare salad: Add all ingredients to a bowl and add desired amount of dressing. Toss to combine.
